Happenings in Addie Land

Sorry for the blurry phone pictures

She loves 'helping' push the stroller.

Walking all by herself.

She loves this basket. I plop her in it and she 'reads' her Winnie the Pooh book ...usually upside down.

She will not stay out of the drawers! "why can't I eat it?"

Helping daddy fix the table.

Hmm, another drawer to explore.

One year old!

This is a very belated post. Addie was sick on her birthday and then we have been busy with work and life.

Addie is walking, babbling, and getting into everything. She loves her shape sorter, going on long stroller rides, and dragging belts out of mommy's dresser drawer.  She is getting to be a picky eater and throws tantrums when she doesn't get her way (already!).  Definitely a toddler now.

The weekend before her birthday she got a visit from her grandparents.

Our present to Adeline was a new high chair that lets her eat at the table with us.

Loving her birthday waffle.

Learning to share.

Walking

Adeline took her first independent steps today.  This past weekend her Aunt Susie taught her to run (not walk!) while holding our hands.  She loves making her way around the house just as fast as she can go looking a little something like this

I don't have any pictures of her walking but I do have pictures from our recent apple picking adventure.

Adeline was a great help. She did a lot of sorting, unpacking and repacking.

11 months

My sweet baby has very quickly become a little girl.  I can't really call her a baby anymore as she hurries her way into toddler-hood.  She is walking (while pushing a chair or holding hands), climbing up stairs with finesse, and learning new tricks all the time.  On Sunday I watched her spend a solid 20 minutes trying to put a screw on lid on an empty container.  In the end, she figured it out and now can screw and unscrew lids of all kinds.  I am totally amazed by her everyday.

Algonquin 2013

Adeline had a grand old time in Algonquin, although her reluctance to sleep in this new exciting place was a bit challenging for everyone else.  Hard to believe a year ago I spent my time at Arrowhon lumbering around with a giant belly.

We celebrated Grandpa's 80th birthday with a surprise party.

Addie kept everyone amused including Aunt Jane.

And Uncle Ian

She even went for her first canoe ride.

I think her favorite part was watching her cousins, Evan and Kate.

Thanks to Ian for all the great photos!

Brown Bear

Have I mentioned that Adeline got all four upper front teeth in one week?

She loves her stroller rides so much she has started to demand them every day.

Such a good eater now! Feeding herself a plum.

This bear was a gift to Adeline from her McIntyre grandparents when she was born.  She never seemed very interested in it so we set it on top of a bookshelf and forgot all about it.  Today, Addie reached for it when we were walking by and now she is completely enamored. We even had to take it with us on a trip to the store.

Ten Months

At ten months old Adeline is just over 15 lbs and 28 inches.  She is pulling herself up to standing, sitting herself back down, and very nearly taking her first steps around the furniture.  She has become very purposeful in her play, carefully pulling things apart. putting things inside of or on top of furniture and containers.  She is very chatty although not yet saying any words.

A visit from Grandpa and Grandma in July

Hanging out in the park with Momma

Swings with Daddy who always seems to pick out the pink outfits even though he complains about having pink in her dresser.

Getting busy in the kitchen.  She loves to pull everything out and then put it all back in her own way.

Climbing the stairs! She made it to the second step before I rescued her. Baby gate getting installed today!

Camping in Algonquin - this was the lookout on our big hike. Addie slept on Glen's back most of the way.

Addie and Daddy hanging out at Guelph Lake.

Trying out some leaves of course!
